How well do you really function?
We have been asked a lot of questions this last semester pertaining to functional training, for example, "What is it?" The best answer we can give you is that we as a team try to facilitate movement patterns that will help you get more our of your every day life functions. Functional training also purposes to asses the repetitive movement patterns you already have and allows us to create a program that will bring muscular balance to prevent anything from daily aches and pains, to really serious future injuries.
One of the things we love about offering this type of training program is that we look at how the whole person is functioning. Working with a fitness ministry and school that places a great emphasis on Spiritual Formation allows us to spot imbalances that go beyond the depth of your muscular system. When was the last time you asked yourself, "How functional is my faith?" We have three main purposes in our walk with God and that is to be with Jesus in The Spirit, together in community on Mission. Depending on the season we are in. we may have more of an emphasis on just one of those pieces. When we have identified which component might be lacking we can use tools such as prayer, Scripture Reading, fellowships, rest and meditation to bring deeper formation with Christ.
Picture this... you're working out every other day and on your off days you are feasting on fast food. Or you have been eating really well and you spend the majority of your time inactive. There will never be a time in your life where being active and eating foods that give you energy will not benefit you. Try to picture this when your faith energy is feeling stagnant. When we do a little inventory on our spiritual lives, remember that Prayer and Scripture are better together, along with community and service. If we only did one we would miss out on a lot of great benefits.
Let us help you move better in your body and with The Body of The Church! We look forward to helping you get more out of your life, in any area!
